When in doubt, should I repeat my Prayer (Salah) ?

After completing your prayer (Salah), if you get any doubts related to some mistake that you may have committed you need to ignore that mistake and should never repeat the prayer. It doesn’t matter what the mistake may have been , it may have been in counting of rakah, it may have been incorrect recitation etc. ; the guidance remains that you should never repeat. We all make mistakes, hence when we finish prayer we immediately says Astaghfirullah (forgive me Allah for my shortcomings). So, these shortcomings are a given, and we should never entertain the thoughts that suggest repetition to address those shortcomings because its a fallacy. Repeating means that you are feeding the obsession that will only grow. So, whenever a voice inside you is suggesting repetition, remind yourself :

We all have shortcomings in our prayer, we should acknowledge that and never repeat our prayers. Repeating the prayer feeds the obsession and increases OCD, and it never brings us longer term satisfaction.
